In 2018 Steve and Dick Johnson launched plans to undertake a mammoth project to build a XD Falcon to compete in the popular Touring Car Masters series.
In 1980, the Tru-Blu XD Falcon that Dick and John French drove at Bathurst famously hit a Rock on lap 17 while leading the Great Race, making Johnson a household name. The car is synonymous with the success of Dick Johnson Racing and the TCM XD will fittingly make its debut in 2020, the 40th anniversary of DJR.
The spiritual home of the XD and DJR is Lakeside International Raceway, where the original ex-Police XD made its debut on 20 July 1980.
There could be no more fitting public unveiling for the new Team Johnson weapon than at Lakeside on 10 February 2020, with limited hot laps being offered with Dick or Steve Johnson behind the wheel.
This exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity comes with a merchandise pack including a cap and "First Drive" can cooler, a recording of your hot lap and photo in the car, exclusive custom signed poster and De Bortoli wine pack.
