New Model Announcements: 2021/2022 Boost Mobile Racing Powered By Erebus Bathurst 1000 Wildcards

We're really excited to announce two new future model releases in both 1:18 and 1:43 scales that we know A LOT of Erebus Motorsport, Greg Murphy and Richie Stanaway fans have been eagerly waiting for which are now available to pre-order at stockists or register your interest for on our website.

The idea of bringing an all Kiwi line up of 4x Bathurst 1000 winner Greg Murphy and young gun Richie Stanaway back to the great race as a wildcard entry with the support of Boost Mobile first became known in 2021 and quickly became a very serious prospect.

Unfortunately the 2021 plans were ultimately scuttled due to travel and quarantine restrictions faced by the New Zealand driver pairing caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, however an incredible livery was launched in the lead up to Bathurst. The striking black, grey and orange livery featured a stylised Kiwi bird down the sides of the #51 Commodore which looked exceptional, especially when paired with the sister #99 livery of Brodie Kostecki and David Russell which featured a similarly styled Kangaroo down the doors (and ultimately finished on the podium).

While the Murphy/Stanaway Wildcard didn't race at Bathurst in 2021, it did set the wheels in motion for another tilt at the 2022 edition of The Great Race where both Murphy and Stanaway finally got their opportunity.

Arriving with a brand new black and orange Boost livery which featured a really interesting background pattern relevant to the drivers and their NZ heritage, the #51 entry performed well in the hands of both drivers. Stanaway put in a remarkable qualifying performance in wet and trying conditions to have the car starting from 4th on the grid and then both he and Murphy navigated a very challenging and incident filled race to finish in a respectable 11th position.
