Revealed at the 2021 Bathurst 1000 as part of the offical Supercars Gen3 launch, this Mustang prototype, featuring an incredible Ford Performance livery, marked the first time the new Gen3 platform was seen on display by race fans. Built by DJR, it completed demonstration laps around Mount Panorama in the hands of Anton De Pasquale, with Shane van Gisbergen in the Camaro Gen3 on track too - which we're also producing.

In an odd set of circumstances, this Mustang was based on the S550 body style for the 2021 Gen3 launch. The Mustang which would actually be racing on track in 2023 however was updated to be the S650 body style. So it's important to note that we've produced this S550 prototype as a sealed body model in 1:18 only but the current Mustang Gen3 Supercar, which has raced on track since 2023, will be produced in die-cast with opening parts in this scale - with those models currently expected to start arriving later this year.

This prototype model represents a really important step for both Supercars and Ford in the evolution of their Australian race cars and this Mustang just looks epic, there's no other way to describe it. The incredible livery, combined with the finely replicated S550 body style, clear moulded windows which reveal the detailed interior inside, new race wheels and more combine to form a model that Ford fans really shouldn't miss adding to their collections.

Produced in an exclusive limited edition of only 576 pieces, it's now available online and at stockists, only while stock lasts.
